Do you offer a warranty on powder-coated finishes?

No, we do not offer a warranty on powder coating. While we use high-temp, outdoor-grade powder coat, exposure to UV rays and high heat over time can cause fading, discolouration, or surface failure—especially in high-temperature areas.

What causes powder coating to fail on outdoor fireplaces or smokers?

Repeated exposure to extreme heat and cooling cycles (particularly around the firebox), as well as UV rays, moisture, and general outdoor conditions, can cause powder coat finishes to fade or break down. We take measures to protect the most affected areas, but some cosmetic wear is inevitable.

Is powder coating purely cosmetic?

Primarily, yes. Powder coating offers a sleek, modern “stealth” look that many of our customers love. It doesn't improve performance or heat resistance—it's all about visual impact. Many customers choose it for its "lived-in" patina that evolves with use.

Can anything be done to protect the powder-coated finish?

To help prolong the finish, store your unit under cover when not in use, and clean it with a soft cloth rather than abrasive tools. Avoid using harsh chemicals, and consider applying a UV-protective wax periodically.

What do the standard finishes look like without powder coat?

All of our products come standard in raw Corten steel, which naturally weathers to a rustic, protective patina. It’s a beautiful, low-maintenance finish ideal for New Zealand’s outdoor conditions—and doesn’t require any coating at all.
